"Theme: Animalia"
The theme for Burning Man 2023 has been announced - Animalia. But what is it and what are we supposed to do with it? Are we going to create animal themed drinks at our bars? Are DJ's going to change their names to woodland creatures? Are Furries taking over? Join us for this one hour interactive discussion with Stuart Mangrum and artist NiNo Alicea.
Stuart Mangrum

Since his first Burn in 1993 he has participated as a theme camp organizer, artist, and year-round staff member contributing to the Project’s communications, education, and storytelling efforts.
NiNo Alicea
NiNo is known for designing and creating several art pieces at Burning Man. “Got Framed”, a popular interactive art installation in 2015 & 2016, recognized him as the 1st Puerto Rican to have ever brought art to Black Rock City. In 2017, he was honored with the Art Grant for the wise woody owl named “MÚCARO”. Most recently he received his second 2022 Honoraria Art Grant and brought the big shiny metal fish called “ATABEY” to the event.
What fulfills NiNo the most is creating spaces that provoke thought and conversation. He loves seeing people being stimulated, and better yet, inspired to create, thrive and dream big.
